Stereogram Dance

UPDATE: The game is complete and available for free on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic

This is a a painting for a personal game project called Dream Mechanic. For it I need quite a few illustrations that can be made in vastly different styles, so I decided to make that a challenge for myself and experiment with a bunch of different ideas. I wanted to make a painting that largely consists of painted patterns. It will be a quick one I though. How hard can it be, even if I decided to try including some stereogramic patters even though I barely know how those work, I thought. I'm definitely not a dumbass for thinking that I thought.

But of course complications arose as they tend to do.

If you haven't heard of stereograms then I encourage you to do a quick google, it's interesting stuff. To put it simply they are a kind of optical illusion where you can see a 3d image in a pattern if you know how to look at it right. Kinda like a secret message and they work on screen and printed. I found out about them just a few months ago from some random podcast and have been found staring at an image of a random dot pattern on my screen at the office like an idiot because of it. But I know what hides in the patterns unlike my ignorant colleagues so it's worth it.

Originally I wanted to make every single pattern in this painting a stereogram, but they need to be large enough and have other limitations if you want to use freely available noob friendly stereogram makers like I did. Also there are other problems that are too boring to explain, so I decided limiting it to several stereograms would make more sense. Zoom in and try to find them. Let me know about your screen staring adventures.
