Graffiti Invasion

Two worlds are literally colliding, and what different worlds they are.
This is for a personal game project called Human Upgrade Labs. I'll be making a puzzle out of this illustration.

Anyway, I wanted to cartoony, stylized characters and objects to really contrast with the background so I decided to paint that as realistically as I can. For that I needed references and like always in these situations I started regretting that I never take photos when I travel. I kinda hate taking photos and instead I searched for a couple of hours for some open source images I could slap together in photoshop for reference. The funny thing is, I ended up basing that reference on three or four photos mostly from Joshua Tree Park in USA and I have actually been there, maybe even in the very spots those photos were taken. Oh well, for me photographing everything all the time in case I need the references would not be worth it for the one or two times a year I run into this problem.
